I am an inventive, creative, and perhaps a little nutty, writer/illustrator who loves a good story. I am versatile in my creations, frequently expressing abstract surrealism, but I am equally grounded within realistic impressions.

I enjoy doodling away, letting the tip of the pen or brush touch the paper and open a world in front of me. My absolute favourite tool is the BIC pen–but I also frequently play with ink and markers, graphite, pastels, as well as watercolours and oils. Though I primarily work by hand, I am also perfectly at home with digital tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Comics are a thing for me, I live and breathe comics narratives. I love stories in different formats, such as film and literature, but there just is something about the comics medium that fascinates me. The blend of the visual and narratorial of a comics story, and the reading experiences that it constitutes, are in my mind nothing less than remarkable. So much so, that I have delved deeper into comics studies and continuously trying to get a foothold in the world of comics theory and academia as a comics researcher. And comics most certainly have a significant influence on my creative work.

My schooling has taken me from a foundation degree in media culture and graphic design from the Finnish design school BHK (today knowns as Inveon) to a BA (joint) Hons. in Contemporary Fine Art and English Literature from the University of Leeds, York St Johns College, and a Masters degree in History, as part of a culture and communication study programme at the University of Helsinki.
